Although each tribe has different processes and due dates, all tribes require support from a local government as outlined in the tribal gaming compact. Specifically, for Tohono O'odham Nation (TO) applicants, this means creating an Intent to Apply form in the Maricopa County (MC) tribal portal. Once the Intent to Apply form has been submitted, application packages can then be summited directly to TO listing MC as your governmental sponsor.
To obtain an application form or questions regarding proposal requirements, please contact the tribe directly at 12grants@tonation-nsn.gov. MC is not responsible for the tribal application process, application requirements or award process.
Recipients of awarded funding will then upload a copy of the application submitted to TO and 501c3 IRS determination documentation. Once reviewed and approved, MC will begin the process of requesting a Resolution of Support and Grant In Aid from the MC Board of Supervisors. A copy of the Resolution and Grant In Aid will be sent to the tribe for signature and receipt of funding. Once funding is received from TO, MC will begin its disbursement process.
